Major Project Resources (MPR) connects instrumentation technicians and electricians with the work, tools, and suppliers that keep projects moving. We’re a trade-first marketplace and job board built by people who’ve pulled cable, tuned loops, and commissioned plants.

Our Story
Major Project Resources (MPR) was founded by Jesse Gallant, an instrumentation technician who began his career in 2011 through the RAP (Registered Apprenticeship Program) in Drayton Valley, Alberta. From the very start, Jesse was drawn to the precision and problem-solving nature of instrumentation work — learning hands-on in the trades before most of his peers even entered post-secondary education.
Over the following decade, Jesse built his career across both maintenance and construction sectors within Alberta’s oil and gas industry. After earning his Instrumentation Journeyman ticket, he transitioned into contracting, investing in the necessary equipment and tools to take on projects independently. His work took him throughout northern Alberta and British Columbia — from Grande Prairie to as far as Pink Mountain — providing services for both upstream and midstream companies.
These years in the field offered a deep understanding of what tradespeople need to succeed — reliable tools, straightforward access to job opportunities, and connections to companies that value their skills. This insight ultimately inspired the creation of Major Project Resources.

Our Mission
At its core, MPR was built to simplify how electrical and instrumentation tradespeople connect with opportunity. We’re creating a centralized platform that allows skilled workers and employers to find one another quickly and efficiently — removing unnecessary barriers in the hiring process.
For tradespeople, MPR serves as a one-stop shop: a place to find work, buy and sell equipment, and access trade-related resources. For employers, it’s a focused channel to reach qualified candidates who already have the industry experience and certifications they’re looking for.
Our Vision
We envision MPR as the go-to resource for the instrumentation and electrical community — a space that supports everyone from apprentices to seasoned journeymen. Our goal is to build a connected trades network that makes the industry stronger, more transparent, and more efficient.
We’re working toward integrating verification systems through governing trade bodies to make hiring more reliable and rewarding. By verifying credentials and apprenticeship progression, MPR aims to help employers hire with confidence while giving tradespeople recognition for their achievements.
As we grow, we’re continuing to explore partnerships that bring discounts on tools, equipment, and trade programs, making it easier for newcomers to get started and for experienced professionals to stay equipped.
Our Community
MPR isn’t just about jobs — it’s about people. Our platform is designed to build a community for tradespeople, where members can buy and sell used tools, share resources, and support one another. From apprentices building their first toolkits to veterans clearing out their shops, we’re creating a space that keeps value circulating within the trades.
MPR is built by tradespeople, for tradespeople — and we’re here to make sure the next generation of electrical and instrumentation professionals have the support, connections, and opportunities they need to thrive.
